Yamba, NSW – Sunday 4 February was the official launch of INC’s latest church plant in Yamba, under Elevation Church, with Pastors Marshall and Narelle Andersen.

Behind this church plant is the inspiring story of Marshall and Narelle Andersen’s return to leading a church.

Pastors Marshall & Narelle Andersen

Marshall and Narelle have been part of INC for 36 years and during that time have served at Brisbane COC under Oceania Chairman, Pastor Ross Abraham, were Youth Pastors in Launceston for 8 years, and Senior Pastors of Hobart INC for 14 years.

Now in their 40’s, Marshall and Narelle have stepped out again to plant a church; leaving behind their two children (one recently married), and their lives on the Gold Coast.

Ps Marshall said after finishing as Senior Pastors in Hobart, the dream to pastor again never left them.

“We’ve always felt called to pastor,“

“That dream was still in us. We were still passionate and hungry to fulfil the call of God on our lives,” he said.

In May 2017, Marshall and Narelle visited Yamba for the first time.

“We fell in love instantly and on that day we were impregnated with a dream and our spirits began to stir to pastor a church again,” Narelle said.

Marshall and Narelle’s dream was aligned with Elevation Church’s desire to plant a church in Yamba. Elevation Church were holding gatherings in Yamba, but needed pastors.

“It became so real when we chatted with our leaders and we’d agreed that this was going to happen. The reality hit – if we go to Yamba, we’re leaving our kids behind, we’re leaving a church that we love, and pastors we love. We were leaving everything” Marshall said.

“God so clearly told me to trust Him, and I decided I would. There was confirmation after that and doors began to open,” he said.

A team have moved from the Tweed Coast to Yamba to support Marshall and Narelle with the church plant.

“We are church planting with the best dream team around,” Narelle said.

“It takes a great team to do amazing things. We’re looking forward to spending time with the people of Yamba and discovering their gifts and seeing them released and equipped to do what they need to do. There’s gold inside every single person, we just have to help them discover what that is,” Marshall said.

INC Yamba have found favour with the community including the local newspaper who advertised the launch.

“God is definitely up to something big,” Narelle said.

INC’s mission is to make disciples, empower leaders and to multiply healthy churches across Australia.
