Group Accountant

THE ROLE

As a Group Accountant, you’ll play a key role in shaping the financial future of INC’s diverse entities, including churches, schools, and ministries. Reporting to the CFO, you’ll provide expert financial guidance, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and support strategic resource management. This is an opportunity for a purpose-driven professional to blend technical expertise with a heart for ministry, building strong relationships with pastors, churches, and stakeholders in a collaborative, faith-filled environment.

Type of Employment: Full Time (preferred, with flexibility)

Location: INC Office | 322 Wecker Road, Carindale, QLD 4152

Remuneration: $110,000 – $130,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements per Australian Accounting Standards, oversee month-end/year-end processes, and deliver high-quality reports for stakeholders.
  • Coordinate external audits, ensure audit readiness, and support risk management initiatives.
  • Develop budgets, monitor performance, and provide actionable financial insights to churches and ministries.
  • Implement and manage financial systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks), streamline processes, and boost financial literacy among stakeholders.
  • Build relationships with pastors and churches, championing ethical stewardship aligned with INC’s Christian values.
  • Support key INC events, such as the INC Conference, and undertake projects as directed by leadership.

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or actively pursuing).
  • 5+ years of financial accounting experience, ideally in group or consolidated reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and technical practices.
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks (MYOB a plus), and advanced Excel skills.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage deadlines with professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
